Casino du Lac-Leamy Terms and Conditions

1. General Provisions

These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of all facilities, services, and gaming operations at Casino du Lac-Leamy, located at 1, boul. du Casino, Gatineau, Québec, J8Y 6W3. Casino du Lac-Leamy is operated by Société des casinos du Québec, a subsidiary of Loto-Québec. Entry or use of services constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Operations are subject to the authority of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (RACJ) and comply with relevant provincial and federal law, including the Act respecting the Société des loteries du Québec and the Act respecting lotteries and amusement machines.

2. Eligibility and Access Requirements

2.1. Age Requirement

Access is restricted to individuals aged 18 years or older. Valid government-issued photographic identification is required upon request. Acceptable identification includes passport, driver’s license, or provincial identification card. Entry may be denied if identification is not provided.

2.2. Right of Admission

Admission may be refused or any individual may be required to leave, with or without cause. Grounds include, but are not limited to: failure to meet age requirements, intoxication, disruptive conduct, Terms and Conditions violations, participation in self-exclusion, or other conduct deemed inappropriate.

2.3. Dress Code and Conduct Standards

Patrons must adhere to standards of dress and personal conduct. Entry or service may be refused if attire or behavior is deemed unacceptable. Specific areas may have particular dress code requirements.

3. Gaming Operations and Rules

3.1. Gaming Participation

Participation is voluntary. Gaming is conducted according to rules set by Loto-Québec and approved by regulatory authorities. Game rules are available upon request and posted in relevant areas. Patrons are responsible for familiarizing themselves with all applicable rules.

3.2. Wagers and Transactions

All accepted wagers are final. Disputes concerning outcomes or wagers must be reported immediately to floor staff. Management decisions are final. The casino does not accept liability for errors in judgment made by patrons during gaming.

3.3. Betting Limits

Minimum and maximum betting limits apply and may differ by game, table, or machine. Limits are posted and may be modified at any time without notice.

3.4. Winnings and Payouts

Winnings are paid in line with posted game rules and payout schedules. Verification of identity and completion of documentation may be required for large winnings, as mandated by law. The validity of claims will be verified before payment.

4. Responsible Gaming and Self-Exclusion

4.1. Responsible Gaming

Information and resources on responsible gaming are available throughout the facility and via staff. Support for those experiencing gambling-related difficulties is provided.

4.2. Self-Exclusion Program

A voluntary self-exclusion program is offered. Individuals may prohibit access for set durations: three months, six months, one year, two years, or five years. Self-exclusion, once established, cannot be revoked or shortened.

Individuals on self-exclusion lists are prohibited from entering any Loto-Québec gaming establishment during the exclusion period. Violation results in removal; winnings during the exclusion period are forfeited.

4.3. Identification of At-Risk Behavior

Staff is trained to identify problem gambling behavior. Information and assistance may be provided to affected individuals. Access may be restricted or prohibited if gaming behavior presents significant concern.

5. Property Rules and Prohibited Condu

5.1. Prohibited Activities

Prohibited actions include:

  • Cheating, fraud, or any attempt to manipulate games or equipment
  • Use of devices or systems to gain unfair advantage
  • Collusion with patrons or staff
  • Disruptive, threatening, or abusive behavior
  • Theft or property damage
  • Possession of weapons
  • Unauthorized photography or recording in gaming areas
  • Unauthorized solicitation or commercial activity
  • Loitering in restricted areas

Persons engaging in prohibited conduct will be removed and may be subject to prosecution.

5.2. Security and Surveillance

The facility is equipped with security and surveillance. Entry constitutes consent to video recording. Recordings may be used for incident investigation, compliance, and dispute resolution.

5.3. Lost or Stolen Property

The casino is not responsible for personal property lost, stolen, or damaged. Patrons are responsible for safeguarding personal belongings. Found items may be turned in to security, but safekeeping or return is not guaranteed.

6. Hotel and Facility Services

6.1. Hotel Accommodations

Hilton Lac-Leamy accommodations are governed by terms and conditions of the hotel operator. Reservations, cancellations, and guest conduct are subject to hotel policies, provided at booking and check-in.

6.2. Restaurant and Entertainment Services

Access to restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, and other services may be subject to additional requirements, including reservations, dress codes, age restrictions, and service policies. Service may be refused at discretion.

6.3. Parking

Parking is provided as a convenience. The casino is not responsible for vehicle damage or theft. Vehicles in violation of regulations may be towed at the owner’s expense.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

7.1. Collection of Personal Information

Personal information may be collected for identity verification, regulatory compliance, customer service, marketing, and security. This may include name, address, date of birth, identification documents, transaction history, and surveillance recordings.

7.2. Use and Disclosure

All personal information is managed in accordance with privacy laws, including Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. Disclosure may occur to regulatory authorities, law enforcement, or service providers as required.

7.3. Anti-Money Laundering Compliance

Compliance with the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act is mandatory. Identification, reporting of certain transactions, and record-keeping are required. Patrons must provide requested documentation as necessary for compliance.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1. Gaming Outcomes

No liability for losses incurred in gaming activities. Participation is at the patron’s own discretion and risk.

8.2. Equipment Malfunction

In the event of equipment malfunction, all affected plays or wagers are void. No liability for losses resulting from malfunction or system failure.

8.3. Personal Injury

No liability for injuries except where resulting directly from the casino’s negligence. Patrons are responsible for their own safety, and for any minors or dependents accompanying them.

9. Modifications to Terms

Terms and Conditions may be modified at any time without notice. Modifications become effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the facilities indicates acceptance of revised terms.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Québec and applicable Canadian law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Québec.
